“Miss Kelly is special to me because she does a lot of things with us and she is responsible for us.”\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>
\n– Shantey\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

\"Shantey'sShantey was born in Rhode Island on August 17, 1992.\u00a0 She moved to New York and then to Steelton, however her memories are only of Steelton.\u00a0 Shantey lives in a yellow house, which she describes as \u201cnice, it gives me shelter, and I have a nice place to sleep.\u201d<\/p>\n

\"Shantey'sShe lives\u00a0 with her mother and aunt.\u00a0 Her dad, \u201cmoved away with his girlfriend.\u201d\u00a0 Shantey’s home has a back yard, which she enjoys because it \u201cis somewhere to play hula hoop and jump rope.\u201d<\/p>\n

\"PlaygroundShantey also has a park near her home.\u00a0 She says that she does not go there often because she \u201cusually doesn’t go outside, it’s boring.\u201d\u00a0 Shantey explained that she enjoys reading, watching movies, playing with her Barbie\u2019s, and her toy horse.\u00a0 Her favorite books include the “Harry Potter” books, Cat in the Hat<\/em>, books about dogs, and \u201cother sorts of books.\u201d<\/p>\n

\"NaplesShantey loves spending time with her mother and her aunt.\u00a0 She enjoys going to New Bloomfield, to the mall, where she can shop.\u00a0 In Steelton, one of Shantey’s favorite things is pizza.\u00a0 \u201cI like Papa John’s.\u201d\u00a0 She also told us that she likes \u201cNaples Pizza because they make it good.\u201d\u00a0 Her favorite is pepperoni and cheese pizza.<\/p>\n

\"SteeltonAlong with pizza, Shantey also enjoys going to The Boys\u2019 and Girls\u2019 Club because \u201cIt’s fun.\u00a0 There are lots of things to do.\u00a0 I like playing Ping-Pong, playing with my friends and I like going into the computer room.”\u00a0 Shantey is also a cheerleader; she explained that \u201cbeing a cheerleader is very special to me.\u201d<\/p>\n

\"PhotographShantey attends The Steelton-Highspire Elementary School<\/a>, however she told us that she does not like it.\u00a0 \u201cTeachers are mean and you get homework.\u201d\u00a0 She also explained that at school, \u201cthere are always bad things there, kids cuss and fight.\u201d\u00a0 Despite these feelings, she has a favorite teacher, Miss Niece.\u00a0 Miss Niece is a reading teacher and a language arts teacher.\u00a0 Shantey likes her because \u201cShe’s not mean and I like to read.\u201d\u00a0 In the future Shantey wants to be a veterinarian because she likes animals.<\/p>\n
